Summary:
Operate and set up all presses from 400 ton to 3000 ton, while ensuring quality and productivity standards are met and complete all necessary documentation.
Essential Functions:
Operate and Set-up hand transfer and progressive die operation and/or perform other duties according to specific job instructions (i.
e.
coil replacement) Perform set ups as required; create first off/ last off Problem solve automation problems as they arise (i.
e.
decoiler, feeder, die, etc) Follow work instructions and verbal directions to meet targeted production quotas Ensure that only quality parts are passed onto the next operation, notify supervisor of quality related problems immediately Complete all necessary documentation (production reports, quality alerts etc.
) correctly and in a timely manner.
Ask for assistance as required Maintain a safe work environment through adherence to all safety policies, rules and procedures established by the company, and initiate corrective action to any unsafe conditions Maintain an attitude of cooperation and teamwork Initiate continuous improvement actions in all aspects of press operations Participate in problem solving all operational problems Meet or exceed all quality requirements Meet or exceed all production standards and expectations Assist in training all new or incumbent employees Comply with all Federal, State, and Local safety and environmental regulations Continually seek ways to reduce waste and costs in all aspects of the press operations Perform all other assignments as directed by management Required Education and
Experience:
Minimum of Grade 12 Education, or equivalent Strong communicator in the English language Strong attention to detail and dexterity Capable of carrying out standardized procedures Knowledge in error proofing devices such as part sensors and press tooling preferred Must be able to read and write in English Forklift and Crane certification Minimum 1 year experience in a press machine operation and set up experience Experience with measuring equipment Ability to follow standardized work instructions and problem solve technical issues Strong coordinating and organizing skills
